The charging system consists of a belt-driven alternator and a voltage regulator. The voltage regulator is an integral part of the alternator brush holder. An alternator manufactured by either Bosch or Motorola is installed on cars covered by this manual. The alternator may be one of three capacities-55 amperes, 65 amperes, or 90 amperes-depending on the type and number of electrical accessories fitted to the car.
